OPENS OFW CENTER
The Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) tied up with four non-government organizations (NGO) accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) recently for the launching of the RCBC TeleMoney OFW Center.
Through the center, which will be housed at the RCBC Savings Bank Bldg., along EDSA in Pasay City, the bank will work hand-in-hand with NGOs for the promotion and enhancement of the welfare of overseas Filipino workers. These NGOs are: YMCA of the Philippines, Kapisanan ng mga Kamag-anak ng mga Manggagawang Migranteng Pilipino (KKAMMPI), Women in Development Foundation (WIDF) and the National Greening Movement Foundation (NGM).
RCBC is the first to put up a center which will cater to the needs of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). This is part of RCBC’s way of recognizing the OFWs as one of the big contributors to the Philippine economy. Through the OFW Center, the bank aims to provide the necessary assistance that an OFW need before he/she leaves the country.
According to RCBC senior vice president and head of TeleMoney Division Articer Quebal, "The RCBC OFW Center will be a one-stop shop for OFWs and their beneficiaries. It will also serve as a venue for seminars on Pre-Departure Orientation and Pre-Employment Orientation."
The partner NGOs cna use the function rooms in the center for conducting orientation to OFWs.
As part of the Pamilya mo, Lingap Ko program of RCBC and the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), the center will also provide health and personal consultation services for OFWs which will be provided by social volunteer workers from the PNRC.
It will also have an off-site RCBC foreign exchange counter to accommodate buying and selling of dollars and an e-mail facilities where families of OFW will be given free e-mail access to send messages to their loved ones.
Aside from the services mentioned, there will also be a customer service counter wher TeleMoney clients can do a balance inquiry and follow up the status of their remittances. The center will also be the official headquarters of the RCBC TeleMoney Global Club.
The setting-up of the RCBC OFW Center is in line with the commitment of RCBC TeleMoney, a domestic distribution system, to effect fast and efficient delivery/payment of remittances from OFWs and immigrants to their families in Metro Manila and provinces.
RCBC TeleMoney is the pioneer in door-to-door delivery and is one of the leading remittance service providers with 154 remittance centers in 24 countries.
